No, we haven’t invented a new platinum level award, but have received 4 separate awards from the Great Taste judges. All three of our dry quinoa products was awarded a gold star, and our Pearl & Black Quinoa Express mix was awarded a gold star as well.
Great Taste awards are given by a panel of 10 judges from across the food industry, who blind taste all the submitted products (nearly 10,000 this year, so there was a lot of competition in the field).
John Farrand, the organiser of Great Taste, said: “To win four 1-star Great Taste awards across a producer’s range shows great consistency of product, and the Great Taste judges felt that each of the different grains was very worthy of a star. This is a simple product which is growing in popularity and we are pleased for Quinola that even such a modest pack of grain can be recognised to have Great Taste.”
So yes it’s a simple little grain, but these awards underline that we only sell Peru’s best quinoa. These awards will be proudly added to Coopain’s Golden Pepper award that they won a few years ago for Peru’s best Quinoa.
